University of Sheffield Orders Custom Consoles Module-R Lite Desks

.

Two Custom Consoles Module-R Lite control room desks have been commissioned by the University of Sheffield University as part of a new state-of-the-art Broadcast Zone. The new facility was constructed for the Department of Journalism Studies. Both desks are housed in the television production gallery forming part of a production suite which also includes a multi-camera HDTV studio, voiceover booths and radio studio.

"Custom Consoles Module-R Lite desks are used in many broadcast production studios as well as in the academic sector and were highly recommended to us," comments broadcast facilities manager Jesse Armstrong. "These were important factors in our overall choice of equipment as we obviously want our students to learn in an essentially real-world television and radio production environment.

"The larger of the two desks is a 2.6 by 0.93 metre design configured for three operators. It is being used for lighting and vision control. A Zero88 Jester lighting control desk is located in front of the central operator. A computer monitor display is mounted on an Ergotron user-adjustable support arm in front of the left and right operator positions. Three equipment pods, each with 3U capacity and sloping front panels, are integrated along the central section of this desk.
