ToolsOnAir Hosts Mac-Based Workflow Partners at NAB
"There has been much discussion and concern among systems integrators about the announcement by Apple that they will be discontinuing their Xserve hardware, and how that will affect the viability of other server products," remarked Gilbert Leb, ToolsOnAir's VP of Sales and Marketing. "At NAB this year we will be showing a number of innovative alternatives which are already available now."
ToolsOnAir's just: Broadcast Suite, dubbed TV Station in a Mac, has gained a rapidly growing following since its release, with more than 100 installations worldwide. This year they have teamed with select partner exhibitors to demonstrate the viability and versatility of the Mac-based end-to-end workflow from ingest to playout.
Archiware will demonstrate P4, their complete automated cloning, backup and archiving solution, while Archiware's US distributor Laurdan will display the tape archive integration of Final Cut Media Server with a Tandberg Data tape library. Chesapeake Systems, a veteran business solutions provider, will be on hand to showcase their Apple-based workflows in business, government and educational facilities, including workflow backup and archive with P4.
"The Mac OS platform has grown to become a robust and mature system for assembling a dependable, cost-effective and stress-free workflow for professional TV broadcast," says Leb. "ToolsOnAir is proud to join together and host our partners and showcase these powerful solutions at this year's NAB Show."
