Telecast Fiber Systems CopperHead™ Pro Now Features Return Video Path

Most Affordable Member of CopperHead Camera-Mounted Transceiver Family is Ideal for I-MAG Productions and Large Event Venues

At IBC2011, Telecast Fiber Systems will demonstrate the latest version of its CopperHead™ Pro camera-mounted fiber optic transceiver system featuring a new analog return video path. The CopperHead Pro provides an affordable and highly versatile solution for HD image magnification (I-MAG) in houses of worship, music venues, and corporate events.

The CopperHead Pro leverages the light weight, high reliability, and superior quality of fiber cable for projecting high-quality HD images for big-screen and multicamera productions. The most affordable and economical offering from the CopperHead family, the CopperHead Pro now transports all of the signals needed for live I-MAG installations, including the camera's pristine, uncompressed HD/SDI signal, complete camera control, and full bidirectional intercom and tally signals.

The new return video path can be used for return "program video" or for a genlock signal.  Like the other members of the CopperHead line of camera-mounted transceivers, the CopperHead Pro mounts quickly and easily to any professional camera's battery interface system including Anton/Bauer®, V-Mount, or PAG. The CopperHead Pro base station is a lightweight, 1-RU frame located in the control room that provides true plug-and-play operation without requiring any front panel adjustments. Any user, from a seasoned professional to a weekend volunteer, can transport uncompressed HD video signals from the camera to the control room via either tactical fiber or hybrid SMPTE cable.

"We designed the CopperHead Pro specifically for our customers who are not in the news or digital cinema business, but are still looking for the benefits of light weight and long distance that fiber optic cabling can deliver. With the CopperHead Pro, the high cost of fiber equipment is no longer an issue for these customers," said Steve DeFrancesco, vice president and general manager of Telecast Fiber Systems. "Audience expectations for high-quality projected video have increased, and so has the quality of HD projectors and displays. The CopperHead Pro enables customers to keep pace with the market, and display pristine HD video on a large screen at a price that is affordable for any production team."

The CopperHead Pro will be among several Telecast Fiber Systems innovations for fiber optic transport on display in the company's stand at IBC2011, 10.B39.
