ROUTING SWITCHERS

Vega
New Flexible Port, Fiber, and Coax Router
Snell's award-winning Vega is a new routing platform that allows users to configure any signal port independently for fiber and/or coax (copper), easing a mixed connectivity environment. Its unique design also enables any port to be configured as either an input or output, providing the industry's most flexible asymmetric routing solution within a space-saving 2RU 96-port router. Vega uses proprietary algorithms to monitor every sub-assembly continuously and offers a full range of options for maximum redundancy: dual crosspoints, dual controllers, dual power supplies, and dual fans. All are 'hot' pluggable or replaceable. Vega is a single solution for a huge range of standard and non-standard routing applications with 50 percent more inputs and outputs than a traditional 2RU router.

Sirius 830
Multi-format Hybrid Router
The Sirius 830 routing switcher is the smallest in the state-of-the-art Sirius 800 range of multi-format, expandable, hybrid routers. It offers a compact 15RU, 288 x 288 frame, with the ability to add an additional 140 independently controllable multi-viewer outputs, without compromising crosspoint redundancy, making it ideal for studio or OB productions. New to the Sirius 830 — and to the entire Sirius 800 Series router line — is support for embedded audio routing and for audio track swapping on inputs and outputs. Unlike many routers with embedded audio, users don't lose video I/O by adding embedded audio cards — 1152 remains 1152.

These new capabilities allow users to route any combination of embedded, discrete, and MADI sources and destinations. In addition to built-in audio functionality, the Sirius 830 features high-performance modules for flexible routing of SD, HD, ASI, and 3Gbps signals. In addition, the Sirius 800's unique approach to redundant crosspoint protection allows a single redundant crosspoint card to protect against failures on multiple crosspoints, providing the highest level of resilience without compromising functionality.

LIVE PRODUCTION

Kahuna 360
Production Switcher Platform
The Kahuna 360, the world's most powerful production switcher, offers up to six full mix effects (M/Es), seven keyers per M/E, 120 HD/SD inputs and 64 HD/SD outputs, and a clip-store with 40 minutes SD or eight minutes HD. The switcher can support up to 16 simultaneous broadcast productions from a single mainframe. The world's first native 1080p/3G switcher, Kahuna 360 supports any format in, any format out, on any input or output. It also features unique Make M/E™ technology, which makes it easy for the operator to leverage available mixer power and create a tailor-made M/E — selecting inputs, keyers, stores, DVE, and outputs —delivering unmatched flexibility when sharing resources in the mainframe and making the rest in the pool available for another program.

PLAYOUT

Channel-in-a-Box: ICE
Snell's Channel-in-a-Box: ICE playout offering delivers the full range of functionality users require while reducing overall system cost for a fully capable playout solution. The latest release of Morpheus ICE introduces even more ancillary functionality, which would have previously been provided by many other devices in the more traditional broadcast chain. This is further enhanced by ICE's unique FlexiCore™ technology allowing the signal path to be configured for any presentation style. One of the newest features is the ICE Validation Service, which provides security against the common format and integrity problems seen in file-based workflows by checking content as soon as it is delivered to ICE.

MODULAR INFRASTRUCTURE

IQ Modular 3G Fiber Solutions
The new IQ Modular 3G range of fiber-optic interfacing modules combines electrical-to-optical conversion with critical processing functions such as video synchronizing, audio embedding, and audio de-embedding. These single-slot, space-saving solutions free users from the limitations of copper infrastructure and enable them to work with both coax and fiber in planning cost-effective HD expansion and 3Gbps (1080p) signal delivery. In addition to IQ's standard audio functions is the inclusion of both stereo-to-5.1 upmixing and loudness control technology developed by Linear Acoustic.
