SILVER: Dome's Latest Production Truck

FUJINON XA99x and HA14x lenses on board Silver to capture all the angles for live production

The Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM North America Corporation announced that its lenses are on board the new OBVan, Silver, from Dome Productions, a leading production facility provider based in Toronto. The truck was showcased at the NAB 2014 convention.

Silver is Dome Production’s 12th HD television production truck. On board the truck at NAB was a FUJINON HA14x4.5BEZD super wide angle ENG/EFP lens with 2.2x extender and an XA99x8.4BESM ultra-wide field production lens mounted on a tripod. Other equipment on Silver includes: Sony cameras, QC monitors, and VTRs; Evertz router, distributions gear, and master clocks; a Calrec audio console; Belden internal video, audio cable and internal/external triax cable; EVS replay servers; and TVLogic monitors.

Silver has already been deployed to cover National Hockey league games in Toronto and Montreal, NCAA Basketball playoffs, and the hometown Major League Baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays, during spring training in Florida.

Aside from the optics on board Silver, Dome has various FUJINON lenses in its equipment roster on other mobile units, including FUJINON’s XA88x8.8BESM telephoto field lens, HA23x7.6BERD ENG-Style HD telephoto lens, and additional HA14x4.5BERD wide angle lenses.
