SENCORE Products Debuting at the 2010 NAB Show

Drawing on more than 50 years of investment and success in engineering design and technology, SENCORE will debut three new products at the 2010 NAB Show while also showcasing its existing line of standard-setting Atlas modulator receiver decoders (MRDs). Like all SENCORE products, these innovations represent the company's commitment to providing high-quality signal processing and video delivery in the most cost-effective way for broadcast, cable, satellite and telco operations around the world.

SENCORE TXS 3453 Transcoder

The SENCORE TXS 3453 real-time, high-performance transcoding platform will be debuting at the 2010 NAB Show. The new TXS 3453 delivers multiple channels of best-in-class transcoding in a reliable, high-density 1RU chassis. A configurable engine and multi-channel architecture allow users to perform both SD and HD transcoding and transrating at an unbeatable cost-per-channel. Key features include bidirectional video transcoding from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4/H.264 and/or H.264 to MPEG-2 in all common HD or SD formats, as well as ASI and IP transport stream and optional RF interfaces. The TXS 3453 offers up to 16 channels, providing broadcast, cable, and satellite operators with the most cost effective solution for their specific needs.

SENCORE SMD 989 DVB-S2 Modulator

The new SENCORE SMD 989 DVB-S2 offers unprecedented modulation efficiency and extreme flexibility, supporting the modulation of two independent DVB-S2 RF transmissions. Packaged in a two-channel, 1RU chassis, this platform provides a flexible space-saving solution for uplinks.

The new SMD 989 DVB-S2 provides satellite video delivery multistream capability, thereby minimizing overall transponder usage. The new modulator further accepts transport streams via DVB-ASI or IP inputs using the UDP or RTP protocols, which gives users the flexibility to accommodate changes over time. In addition, the SMD 989 features optional agile L-band upconverter with an output frequency range of 950 to 2150 MHz; sustains all modulation formats defined in the DVB-S2 standard; and offers optional multi-stream inputs along with an agile RF up-converter.

SENCORE IRD3000 Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD)

The new SENCORE IRD3000 line of professional receivers/decoders are cost-effective solutions for the distribution of video services for any network with targeted applications. The new IRD is designed to support SD applications, allowing operations to leverage their existing SD infrastructures while affording an easy upgrade path to HD for the future. The IRD3000 provides a satellite RF or MPEGoIP combined with ASI transport stream inputs, while transport stream outputs are available on ASI and MPEGoIP for distribution to digital networks. The IRD provides high quality MPEG2 and H.264 SD-video formats on analog or serial digital outputs with an option to enable HD formats. The series is fully compliant with DVB and ATSC standards.

SENCORE Atlas 3187B Modular Receiver Decoder (MRD)

SENCORE will showcase the next generation of its standard-setting Atlas MRD, the professional multi-format, modular receiver decoder installed by more broadcast, cable, satellite, and telco providers than any other. The versatile Atlas 3187B adapts to virtually any contribution, distribution, or backhaul environment, and sets the standard for performance, scalable functionality, and cost of ownership. Expanding the functionality of the company's award-winning Atlas 3187A, the Atlas 3187B adds features such as SCTE-35-104 message conversion for commercial insertion applications; DVB-Common Interface for conditional access decryption; multiservice descrambling; and advanced DVB-S2 capabilities such as 16ASPK and VCM support.

The Atlas 3187B also features the company's new 8716 four port satellite input card. This card supports DVB-S and DVB-S2 demodulation as with previous generation satellite cards, but also includes additional support for the MRD's advanced features including VCM, 16-APSK demodulation, and multiple transport stream selection via Input Stream Identifier (ISI).
