RBC-TV to Expand Artist Intercom and RockNet

Artist Matrices can easily be expanded to form systems with up to 1,024x1,024 non-blocking ports

RBC-TV, one of the leading business TV networks in Russia, expanded their existing third-party intercom system with an Artist digital matrix intercom solution by Riedel Communications. An additional Riedel RockNet digital audio network provides elaborated audio routing capabilities at the RBC-TV studios.

To expand their comms infrastructure RBC-TV installed an Artist system comprising an Artist 64 mainframe and Artist control panels from 2100 and 3000 series. Connection between the existing third party intercom and the Riedel system is realized via 4-wire. The Riedel Artist digital matrix intercom is a modular intercom solution that allows for adopting systems to the individual needs of an installation. Artist Client cards provide the connection for various different signal types such as audio signals or GPIOs. Artist Matrices can easily be expanded to form systems with up to 1,024x1,024 non-blocking ports.

"For our new studio, we chose Riedel Intercom, because we it manages all tasks just just we way we want and need it. We will also exchange the remaining Drake System in our old facility with a Riedel Artist mainframe. Those two frames will be forming one integrated system", said Mikhail Terezchenko, Director Technical Development at RBC-TV.

Furthermore, RBC-TV furnishes a RockNet digital audio network installation to distribute the audio signals on-site. The system comprises RockNet 100 and RockNet 300 input and output modules. RockNet MADI interfaces provide the connection to the studio's audio mixing console.
