Point Source Productions Ltd, the London-based hire company, has started the new year by investing in over £250,000 of new hire stock, expanding its inventory with equipment from manufacturers such as Chroma Q, Clay Paky, ETC, GDS and Selecon.

The investment comes on the back of an extremely successful year in 2012 for the company as it supplied events surrounding the multiple celebrations in and around the capital.

“We decided to increase our moving light stock by delving into the impressive Clay Paky catalogue and have invested in the Alpha Spot HPE 700 profiles and A.Leda K10 wash units.

“The minimal weight of both these units coupled with near silent operation and astonishing speed of movement has made them popular across all markets - a major consideration as our clients operate in many different fields,” continues Capel.

Point Source Productions turned to ETC when it came to increasing its offering of control desks, choosing the ETC ION with 2 x 20 fader wings. “These desks, coupled with our existing grandMA range, allow us to supply small, medium and large venues with our expanded range of control solutions,” explains Capel.

Point Source Productions’ events-based customers will be pleased to discover the acquisition of a stock of GDS Liteware HO wireless battery powered LED uplighters. And the company can now report that the rolling upgrade of its very popular stock of DB4 LED fixtures with the DB4 Plus engine has been completed. In a shake up of its Fresnel stock, Point Source Productions now exclusively stocks Selecon Fresnels, including the Acclaim and Rama models.

Other new additions to the hire inventory include - but are not limited to - the doubling of heavy mains cable stock (including rental price decrease), a new cable ramp system (with improved stock holding), Rubber Box mains distro and further stocks of Chrome ETC Source Four Juniors.

“We constantly review the best of what is available on the market and reassess our own hire stock so we can continue to offer our customers state of the art, reliable, high quality equipment,” states Capel. “It is something our customers have come to rely on and appreciate over the years and matches our determination to provide top quality service by backing it up with the best and most suitable hardware available.”
