MSA Focus Looks East for Continuing Success

Telekom Malaysia goes live with ForeTV, while Kompas Gramedia in Indonesia signs up

The benefit of basing a large development and implementation team in the Far East has paid off once again for leading business oriented broadcast management supplier MSA Focus. It has just completed the installation of a ForeTV system at Telekom Malaysia, and is about to install ForeTV, to a very tight timescale, at Kompas Gramedia in Indonesia.

The tools in ForeTV are designed to help broadcasters manage content effectively across multiple platforms, covering tasks from acquisition, rights and financing to planning, scheduling and playout. Telekom Malaysia went live with its system in June 2011, with its first task to manage the new EMAS channel which went on air at the same time. EMAS is described as “the first retro contemporary TV channel in Malaysia”, and it relies on schedules and playlists prepared in ForeTV.

Kompas Gramedia is the largest media conglomerate in Indonesia. It has selected ForeTV to power its newly established television enterprise – giving MSA Focus the challenge of an aggressive implementation strategy based on a two month launch plan. ForeTV is designed for rapid implementation because the world of television is fast moving, and MSA Focus will be providing an “out of the box” solution which will comfortably meet the timescale.

“We continue to have great success in the Far East,” said Phua Lik Chin, regional manager for MSA Focus. “This is due to the strong desire of broadcasters in this part of the world to be as commercially effective as possible. They understand that efficient and flexible broadcast management is central to this, and recognise that ForeTV provides precisely that efficiency and flexibility.”

Chin also pointed to the intuitive and user friendly interface which allows users to access all the powerful functionality of ForeTV. The software is based on the widely familiar Windows platform, and MSA Focus is progressively implementing Windows Presentation Foundation across the system to allow users to establish exactly the look and feel each requires.

MSA Focus is exhibiting at IBC2011, and can be found on stand 3.B40.
