Move of Broadcasting Infrastructure for Eqtisadia TV managed by Qvest Media

The relocation of the technical equipment took place during live operations but was not noticeable for Eqtisadia TV's audience

Eqtisadia TV, the business and news channel, has now concentrated its studio and broadcasting facilities in Riyadh. The Saudi-Arabian broadcaster has thus merged its existing studios in Dubai and Riyadh and extended its broadcasting infrastructure and production capacities at its headquarters. Eqtisadia TV had awarded the contract for relocating the studios to Qvest Media FZ LLC, which is located in Dubai.

Under the terms of the agreement, Qvest Media was responsible for the entire conceptional planning as well as for dismantling the broadcasting infrastructure that until this point in time was installed in Dubai. Additionally the reinstallation and the commission of the equipment in the broadcasting centre in Riyadh were carried out by Qvest Media. The studio facilities that were relocated included a fully equipped four-camera studio with associated picture and audio direction. In addition, an Avid iNews editorial system, Avid NewsCutter video editing workstations and Vizrt graphics systems were moved. A complete broadcast processing system consisting of a Harris Automation unit controlling a playout environment based on Omneon servers was also transferred. Avid AirSpeeds are used for clip feeds during studio production.

A major challenge for Qvest Media was to reproduce the studio in Dubai 1:1 at the new location in Riyadh. To this end, the planning engineers at Qvest Media performed an analysis of existing technical equipment and drew up detailed sequence plans for the dismantling and reassembly of the equipment, which was then installed in a new building 37 complex in Riyadh. There, the new news studio was equipped with an additional green screen, providing the option of operating it as a virtual studio bases on a three-camera system and the Vizrt graphics solutions.

The relocation of the technical equipment took place during live operations but was not noticeable for Eqtisadia TV's audience, since the existing studio in Riyadh assumed temporary responsibility for all production and broadcasting operations during the move.
