Merging Technologies @ NAB 2012

Merging Technologies will exhibit at booth # C3239

Merging Technologies returns to NAB with its strongest broadcast line up ever.  The ground-breaking Horus Networked Audio Converter heads the pack with its first appearance at an NAB convention.

The same is true of MXFix Loudness Compliance Server which is one of the very few file-based solutions on offer to deal with the new loudness regulations being introduced. The well established Pyramix Virtual Studio, the Ovation Media Server and Sequencer and the VCube Hi Def Video System complete the portfolio.

Horus is a high quality audio converter in a small form factor with extremely low power consumption. It has connectivity that covers virtually any situation. Digital audio input connections are MADI and AES/EBU with optional analog mic and line inputs and for outputs there are MADI, AES/EBU and optional analog line. Additionally there are connections for LTC, MIDI, RS-422 and GPIO. The final socket is the RJ-45 that connects the revolutionary RAVENNA IP Audio stream. Once Horus becomes part of a network, the options for control of the audio and routing of channels is increased dramatically. Connected to other RAVENNA enabled devices, a complex and complete system can be connected with a single cable between any of the units which then become nodes on the network.

MXFix is one of the most comprehensive loudness checking and legalizing tools available.  This batch-processing wrap tool performs fully EBU R-128 and ITU1770/ATSC compliant loudness measurement, loudness report generation, loudness level correction, True Peak limiting, Dolby E® decoding & encoding, Dolby E line position correction, audio wrapping, and MXF metadata conformity wrapping all in one watch-folder based offline processor. MXFix also has a unique Web-based status-monitoring interface that shows the status of all tasks at a glance on any networked device or allows an operator to change task priority orders in an instant. The modular approach allows the facility to choose whether to purchase the Jünger Level Magic™ or the Surcode for Dolby E® encoding and decoding.

Pyramix with its Masscore® option has an established reputation for reliability and the highest recording quality and is offered with a staggering array of tools for specific applications. So whether you are in broadcast, post or music, there will be interface options and plug ins available to suit your workflow. The combination of Pyramix, Masscore and Horus is uniquely powerful and is a “must-see” demonstration on the Merging booth.

Ovation 3.0 has already established its credentials in a variety of critical live applications where the ability to program and easily edit cues is mandatory.  This includes theme parks, theatres, live venues and large installations.  It is no surprise to find Ovation in critical playout situations in broadcast.  OB trucks in particular have found the Ovation to be the perfect answer to live audio playback during a show.  The same holds true for on air studio applications where absolute reliability and ease of use are the highest priorities.

VCube offers similar flexibility of use. There is a family of different VCube player only and player/recorder models designed to meet the needs of an array of applications, such as audio post production, film dubbing, ADR/Foley, HD screening rooms, video ingest and a multitude of other audio/video and video only applications, either as a standalone system or as part of a multi-system network. With an impressive array of codecs, optional plug ins and sync options, VCube can handle virtually any video format and 24 tracks of audio, with or without Dolby E and can be synchronized to virtually anything.
