Leader Instruments Introduces LV 7700-01 Remote Controller

Leader's new LV 7700-01 remote controller for the LV 7770 and LV 5770

Leader Instruments has chosen Argentine broadcast electronics show CAPER 2012 as the launch venue for its LV 7770-01 remote control unit. Designed for use with Leader's LV 7770 multi-standard rasterizing signal analyser and the award-winning LV 5770 compact multi-monitor, the LV 7770-01 has similar front-panel controls to the LV 7770 and the same 1 rack-unit width and height but much more compact front-to-back depth.

"With over 3,000 regional television and radio stations, Argentina is a major market for broadcast equipment," states George Gonos, President of Leader Instruments. "The exhibition itself is also very well timed for American broadcasters, mid-way between each NAB Spring Convention. The new LV 7770-01 control panel allows an LV 5770 or LV 7770 to be operated across any distance via an IP connection.

This can be useful in a mobile production vehicle where the narrow depth makes the controller particularly easy to accommodate, or in a post-production studio where a test instrument located in an apparatus room can be accessed from an unlimited number of workstations. The controls closely match those of the LV 7770 so no time needs to be wasted in refamiliarisation. The economic benefits as well as the space-saving advantages are considerable for any environment needing occasional access to a high-specification broadcast test instrument."

Introduced at the April 2012 NAB show in Las Vegas and now in production, the LV 7770 gives staff as well engineering supervisors at television broadcast networks and production or postproduction facilities the freedom to assess video and audio content on a much larger screen than can be incorporated in a portable instrument.

Equipped with dual auto-sensing 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI inputs, it can be used to analyse a total of 17 video signal formats ranging from standard-definition up to 720p, 1080i and 1080p high-definition. Tri-level sync or NTSC or PAL blackburst are accepted for external reference. The selected input is reclocked and can be fed downstream. Features include waveform, vectorscope, peak video level display, SDI/external-sync phase difference, audio, picture and data monitoring, error detection/logging facilities, gamut error display and equivalent cable length readings.

Also on show at CAPER 2012 will be the Leader's LV 5980 17 inch SDI waveform and video monitor/analyser with 3D-Assist, the LV 5837 and LV 5838 audio monitors, and the LV 5307 compact multi-format 7 inch monitor/rasterizer.

CAPER 2012 will be held at the Centro Costa Salguero exposition halls in Buenos Aires, 24-26 October. The event is organised by  Camara Argentina de Proveedores y Fabricantes de Equipos de Radiodifusion which promotes and protects the interests of broadcasters in the Argentine republic. Leader will be represented at the show on stand C10 with Buenos Aires based reseller Sistemas de Video Comunicacion S.A.
