Industry Awards Recognize the Value of the New Grass Valley Ignite Konnect Production Automation System

Ignite Konnekt

At the NAB 2010 Show, Grass Valley™ introduced a new addition to its Ignite™ automated production system, called Ignite Konnect, which was well received by both convention attendees and the industry trade press. In fact, the new Konnect, which allows users of the Grass Valley Kalypso™ and Kayenne™ Video Production Center systems to easily transition to live production automation, was recognized by two of the industry’s most prestigious publications as a best-of-show solution that promises to have an immediate and positive effect on the industry in a variety of ways.

Ignite Konnect was recognized with a “Pick Hit” award from Broadcast Engineering magazine and a “STAR” award from TV Technology magazine. The staffs of both publications cited the Ignite Konnect software suite as one of the most outstanding and innovative technologies developed and shown at this year’s NAB 2010 Show.

The Gras Valley Ignite Konnect system leverages the proven performance attributes of its highly successful predecessor, the Ignite automated production system, which to date have been installed in more than 100 facilities worldwide.

With the capability to automate as much or as little of a broadcaster’s or production studio’s workflow as is necessary Ignite Konnect is designed for live production automation applications where a customer already has a Grass Valley Kalypso or Kayenne switcher in place. It requires little or no change to existing switcher effects. Ignite Konnect also interfaces seamlessly with the Grass Valley MediaFUSE® Content Re-purposing and Multi-distribution System, providing a complete multi-media production and distribution workflow for both live and on-demand Web and mobile content.

Broadcast Engineering’s Pick Hit awards are the industry’s longest running new technology awards. They are presented in recognition of the innovative technology developed and shown at NAB2010. An anonymous panel of Broadcast Engineering readers who are working professionals in the broadcast, post, network and satellite industries selected the winners.

The STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) award is selected by the editors of TV Technology magazine from hundreds of candidates and is given to the most “outstanding technology available to the Broadcast industry.”
