MAYAH stand at IBC 2010: 8.B94

The leading German audio and video codec manufacturer MAYAH Communications is going to reveal several new products at the IBC 2010 in Amsterdam. The absolute highlight is the unique FM Radio to MPEG TS Transcoder / Converter, based on the new generation audio codec CENTAURI III 4000.

With the FM Radio to MPEG TS Converter option for CENTAURI III MAYAH provides an affordable, efficient, space and cost saving solution for cable network operators willing to deliver any local radio programs to their customers. Up to 8 programs can be received, encoded and streamed with one 2RU device.

Integrated high quality FM receiver offers eight separate antenna inputs for full flexibility of interconnections. Demodulated signal as well as the RDS data is transferred digitally to the MPEG encoder and then streamed out at the dedicated streaming IP interface.

For audio compression the industry standards are supported by the Converter: MPEG-1 Layer 2, MPEG-4 AAC or HE-AACv2. For IP transport a variety of protocols can be used: from the DVB compliant MPEG TS to ISMA compliant or plain UDP/RTP. For MPEG TS MAYAH provides any combination of Single Program or Multiple Program Streams.

Particularly efficient hardware platform of the new generation audio codec CENTAURI III allows the high density rack installations with the best security possibilities, thanks to redundant power supply option and always available dual IP interface for separate control and streaming.

Set-up of all parameters is really easy with the platform-independent web remote which can be started in any standards-based web browser on Windows, Mac OS, Linux or even mobile operating system.
