IBC 2010: New Touch-Screen Panel, New UMD-HD and Individual VSM Control Solutions

L-S-B Displays Latest VSM Software and Hardware Innovations at IBC Stand 11.G58

The Virtual Studio Manager (VSM) is the global leading control system for mobile and stationary production applications. The VSM brings the complete broadcasting environment together under one umbrella, independent of the manufacturer. L-S-B Broadcast Technologies GmbH will be displaying their innovative VSM software and hardware control solutions as well as further new product highlights at booth G58, in hall 11, at this year’s IBC in the Amsterdam RAI.

The new VSM touch-screen panel is more than just an alternative to the LBP series desktop panel. Thanks to the innovative 10.4 inch TFT colour display it can be operated more intuitively and displays the control and supervision functionalities of the client application vsmPanel with much more graphical possibilities, for example faders. The concept of the new panel is designed for flexible use in accordance with the customer’s wishes. In combination with optional accessories the following installation alternatives are available: as a desktop panel in an OB van or in a studio, as a mobile panel on a solid foot, with a VESA support arm or stationary embedded into a table. When installed on the foot as a desktop panel the angle of inclination can be varied in such a way as to enable readability in any light situation.

“UMD goes HD”

The Under Monitor Displays (UMDs), which have been developed and constructed specifically for use with the VSM, display information such as labels and tally quickly, clearly and precisely. The content shown by the UMDs can be configured with the vsmStudio software. In addition to the 19 inch UMD-SD and the ½19 inch UMD-SD, L-S-B expands its portfolio with the UMD-HD addition and will present this new product innovation at the IBC 2010. The UMD-HD’s design, dimensions and weight are identical in construction to the 19-inch UMD-SD. The new HD version has a resolution of 160x16 pixels and therefore provides many more possibilities. It can also display Arabic and Asian characters as well as time code information and gain parameters. Furthermore the two Tally colours red, green and a mixture of the colours are available for text information. This enables Tally to be displayed not only on the Tally bar at the top of the UMD but also to be reflected in the colour of the displayed text.
