i-movix Strengthens its Position in Mexico

The I-MOVIX camera is on air on the occasion of the Copa America in Argentina

I-MOVIX is proud to announce a new reference in Mexico. Indeed, Televisa, the leading TV channel in Mexico just opted for the new SprintCam Vvs HD 32Gig. The deal was made possible thanks to the effective collaboration of Insitel Mexicana, the exclusive distributor of I-MOVIX in this country.

Edgar Díaz de la Vega, CEO of Insitel Mexicana, says in this respect "A few months ago, I made a visit to the I-MOVIX headquarters in Mons, Belgium, with the objective to learn more about the technology behind this camera. I was very pleased with the evolution of the product since 2009. I could also realize how much the I-MOVIX development team was investing in technological innovation. This is actually the main reason why I decided to have the first SprintCam Vvs HD in Mexico. I am sure that Insitel as well as their customers have in their hands a cutting-edge product with a long and promising lifecycle, a crucial aspect when it comes to investing resources wisely."

The I-MOVIX camera, now on air on the occasion of the Copa America in Argentina, was already in use during major football events like the Mexican soccer league and the Copa de Oro.

"The main reasons to adopt the SprintCam Vvs HD were the possibility of varying color ranges in real time, to provide a perfect color matching with the other cameras we use, and the simple and fast setup of the equipment, which basically consists in pulling the SMPTE optical fiber cable and connect it to the camera. The added value of the SprintCam Vvs HD is that, now, the ultra slow motion shots have an exceptional image quality and color, and this is exactly what has been demonstrated during the Finals of the Mexican soccer league, as well as during the Copa de Oro and more recently on the occasion of Copa America. Finally, I would like to add that this technology is what we needed and have been waiting for a while." says Guillermo Carreón, Gerente de Creatividad Digital Televisa.

From a technical point of view, Jorge Avilés, Ingeniero, in charge of the SprintCam Vvs HD, says "I am very happy to use this camera because it enables a much faster and easier operating mode. What is also appreciated is that we can use all HD broadcast lenses own by Televisa. Following any action happening during a sports event is easier since we operate the SprintCam Vvs HD as an additional camera in our productions. Last but not least, the slow motion remote is so user-friendly that it allows to put multiple shots on air." Laurent Renard, CEO of I-MOVIX, concludes with "The I-MOVIX team is delighted to announce this new deal which strengthens our position in Mexico. We are proud to count a major TV channel like Televisa among our clients and pleased to collaborate with Insitel Mexicana, a partner of excellence in this region of the world. These first references in Mexico are promising and will allow us to further develop our presence in Latin America."
