Harris Announces New Additions to Solution Architecture & Customer Support Teams in Europe & Africa
The appointment of Marcel Tölkemeier as a Solution Architect for video headend systems underlines Harris’ commitment to the European market and highlights the company’s strategic focus on its Selenio™ media convergence platform and the compression and distribution markets in a broader context.
Previously working for one of Europe’s leading broadcast system integrators, Marcel Tölkemeier brings four years experience focused on video headend design and implementation for broadcasters & telcos.
“With the launch of the Selenio media convergence platform and our ability to provide complete turnkey solutions, the video headend and compression markets represent a key focus for market development within Europe and Africa, “ commented Mathias Eckert, Vice President, Sales and Services, Europe and Africa at Harris Broadcast Communications. “Harris delivers a complete solution and provides full ownership and responsibility, guaranteeing the customer optimum workflow and smooth integration of the key solution elements.”
Adding support to Harris server and broadcast graphics operations in Europe & Africa
At the same time, Harris has appointed Mathias Kunert and Markus Kartulik to its Nordic & Central European customer support team. Both new appointments will focus on the company’s NEXIO™ video server family as well as Harris’ broadcast graphics product portfolio.
Mathias Kunert joins Harris from Avid Central Europe where he was looking after networked production systems including shared storage, MAM, non linear editing, playout and integrated newsrooms. Previously, he worked for Pinnacle Systems in the same market area. Kunert brings a wealth of experience in servicing complex IT-based broadcast systems.
Markus Kartulik joined Harris from Grass Valley Germany. He has a strong IT background combined with extensive audio and video knowledge. He started his career in GVG servicing cameras, complete studios and OB trucks before he focused on Grass Valley’s K2 videoserver family, supporting international events such as the FIFA Soccer World Cup Finals in South Africa.
“These two talented service engineers will be based in Munich, however they will contribute to building a strong and powerful service organization for the whole Europe and Africa region, “ commented Stefan Kappel, Head of Customer Service, Europe & Africa at Harris Broadcast Communication. “Europe is an area where Harris is significantly increasing market share, so these new appointments mean that we can offer the same high levels of customer service with a key focus on the new broadcast technology areas.”
