Gekko kleer colour nominated as 'IABM Design Awards Candidate 2010'
Gekko Technology announces that its 'kleer colour' colour-tunable LED light engine technology has been nominated as 'IABM Design Awards 2010 Candidate'
Unlike multi-source RGB colour-mix devices, kleer colour delivers a broad spectrum of light that can be adjusted by the operator to match a vast array of hues across the visible range. Closed feedback ensures stable colour across a range of output levels as well as correcting changes in output as a consequence of ambient temperature fluctuation and ageing of the chip itself. In addition to its unsurpassed creative versatility, the kleer colour engine delivers high quality colour light rendition across a broad spectrum of white.
LED light sources offer numerous benefits over conventional light sources, including very high optical efficiency and low forward heat projection. The kleer colour light engine delivers these benefits plus the ability to be matched with traditional light sources that might also be employed. As well as saturated colours, kleer colour can precisely emulate a high quality tungsten reference source. The technology allows presets at 2900K, 3200K, 4300K, 5600K and 6500K. Gekko’s kleer colour light engine and control software are the subjects of a range of GB, EU, US and international patent applications.
