G&D Receives Tempest Certification

DL-MUX4-MC2 : Tap-proof and Tempest qualified

Guntermann & Drunck’s DL-MUX4-MC2 is now Tempest certified. As high-quality safety switch, the device fulfils the quality and security standards required for the use in public safety and the military. The certification according to SDIP 27 Level B (ER) indicates that the switch can be used in a Zone 1 environment, meaning it is tap-proof from attacks within 20 to 100 m from the installation.

Electro-magnetic radiations from devices can be tapped, reconstructed and evaluated through hacker attacks. With the DL-MUX4-MC2, sensitive and confidential data transmitted in public safety and the military is protected from interception.

Technology in detail
As hardware switch, the DL-MUX4-MC2 lets users switch between four computers with two graphics cards each. The DL-MUX-MC2 reduces four computers times two monitors (= 8 monitors) plus four keyboards and four mouse devices to two monitors, one keyboard and one mouse.

It supports DVI resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz or 2k x 2k @ 60 Hz and VGA resolutions up to 1920 x 1440 @ 75 Hz and higher - even when DVI and VGA signals are mixed.

On the output side, digital and analogue monitors can be operated. Applying the switch does not require any additional software. USB and audio can also be switched, which enables users to use one single USB device on all four computers. Monitoring functions, identification LEDs, logbook functions and redundant power supply are also part of the DL-MUX’s functional range.
