EVS Technology Migration Workshop at NAB 2011

At the NAB show, EVS will organize a workshop dedicated to production technology migration for broadcasters

EVS is inviting two leading broadcasters for its technology migration workshop organized on Monday 11 April, in room C204 of the Central Hall at NAB. Erick Diaz, Technical & Operations Manager at NBC/Access Hollywood, and Bevan Gibson, Deputy Head of Technology at SkyNews, will share their experience in migrating their production workflow to a fully integrated tapeless environment.

At the NAB show, EVS will organize a workshop dedicated to production technology migration for broadcasters and production companies. The workshop is based on 2 case studies, allowing attendees to better understand every aspect of a tapeless transition project. The following case studies will be proposed by EVS to all NAB attendees:

NBC/Access Hollywood Workshop

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution’s hit entertainment newsmagazine “Access Hollywood” has made the transition to a full tapeless end-to-end workflow by employing EVS servers and content management tools. This first case study will emphasize the challenges of switching from a linear editing environment to a fully integrated non-linear production with direct impact on speed and efficiency.

SkyNews HD Workshop

Monday 11 April at 2:30 PM
Guest speaker: Bevan Gibson, Deputy Head of Technology

Since May 2010, SkyNews productions in London and Washington are based on a full HD tapeless solution developed by EVS. The fully integrated solution covers the entire HD workflow from acquisition to playout, including central storage and media content management. The case study will present SkyNews’ original technical and production requirements, the advantages of going tapeless and the leading private European broadcaster’s plans for the future.

Both case studies will be presented at the meeting room C204 of the Central Hall (NAB Show).
