EVS to Present State-of-the-Art Sports and Studio Production Solutions

Jay Deutsch, director of projects and systems architecture, to speak on the future of remote sports production

At Content & Communications World (CCW) 2012, EVS will showcase its solutions for sports and studio production at booth #1205 at the Javits Convention Center in New York on November 14-15. In addition, EVS’ director of projects and systems architecture, Jay Deutsch, will participate in a panel discussion on the future of remote sports production in Hall 1A at 2.30pm on November 14.

As part of a panel moderated by Jason Dachman, managing editor of Sports Video Group, Deutsch will join speakers from CBS Sports, Mid-Atlantic Sports Network and Game Creek Video to discuss the rapidly evolving world of live remote sports production and how to best take advantage of today’s most cutting-edge workflows. With nearly 20 years’ experience in the broadcast industry, Deutsch has supervised several high-profile sporting events, including Olympic Games and FIFA World Cups, for broadcasters such as CBS, ESPN, FOX and NBC, receiving Emmy and Gracie awards along the way.

At EVS’ booth (#1205), visitors will be able to experience hands-on demos of EVS’ latest sports and studio production solutions. At the sports demo station EVS will showcase its industry-leading Sports360° solutions that help broadcasters shape the future of sports broadcasting. These include the latest XT series server - the eight-channel SD/HD XT3 server - controlled by MulticamLSM for live slow motion replays and on-the-fly editing. For simple but high-speed live sports production workflows, EVS will demo the six-channel XTnano SD/HD slow-motion replay server with thenano controller.

As part of the Sports360° demo, EVS will showcase C-Cast, the first advanced multi-cam solution allowing instant distribution of multi-camera angle content from venues to web-connected screens during live productions. Suited to any sports and live events, the award-winning solution offers broadcasters and media rights holders unlimited possibilities to deliver extended media packages to multiple audiences including TV viewers, spectators, coaches, journalists and referees. With fully-modular and service-oriented architecture, C-Cast adapts to any kind of business or workflow, and offers advanced integration with third-party web systems and data import such as statistics, commercials and tweets.

With the XTAccess gateway, EVS will demonstrate media interchange between EVS servers and third-party tools, automatic on-the-fly transcoding, faster-than-real-time media transfer between the XTnano and removable drives - and between EVS servers – using the Xtract application, and extended management of clips and playlists using the Xscreen app.  Completing the Sports360° demo is EVS’ XFly, a new compact, portable SATA-based storage platform which offers up to 6.2TB of storage with capacity for 140 hours of HD at 100Mbps for extended live production operations.
