Newsroom Production: Modular Production for News

Xedio is a software-based solution designed for fast news and sports productions, which can adapt to any type of multi-format HD/SD broadcast workflow, including feed acquisition, file ingest without transcoding, virtual production and editing, central media management as well as direct playout with no need for prior rendering. Xedio’s unique level of integration with third-party systems makes it adaptable to any infrastructure.

Live 3D Production: Recording & Playback Control

With live 3D becoming a reality, EVS demonstrates the 3D capabilities of its XT[2]+ production server used at worldwide flagship events for live 3D replays, editing and slow motion actions.

EVS Highlights of this year’s NAB

New Production & Live Storage Server. This newly developed server offers boosted live production capabilities and scalable storage capacities-- with up to 20TB storage capacity per server-- for all live broadcast productions. The new SD/HD server is available in 6, 4 or 2 channel configurations, with new SAS disks controllers, new external storage arrays and dual networking capabilities.

New Edit-While Playout Mode. First timeline editor to offer on-air fixing and on-the fly editing features optimized for multi-time zones and fast turnaround program editing. The new edit-while-playout mode from IPEdit allows highlights to be played out while they are still under editing progress.

New Entry Level Replay Server. XTnano is the new 4-channel HD/SD slow motion replay server from EVS. Designed for live sports productions requiring simple workflows, XTnano with its Nano controller is the perfect toolbox for essential high-speed operations with maximum reliability.

New Sports Graphic Analysis Solution. This new sport graphic tool has been fully integrated to the XT[2]+ LSM system, allowing to control live slow motion and create overlay graphics from one single remote controller.

Loop Recording Server for Studio Applications. XS is the latest multi-format server solution with peerless recording and ingestion of multiple A/V feeds and playout control. XS is available in 2 to 4 flexible channel configurations in SD or HD. XS is optimized for third-party control, including automation systems, linear or hybrid editors, switchers and controllers.

New Multi-Channel Playout Controller: MPlay is an intuitive remote control system that is used for the playout of clips, playlists and graphics. With this newly developed system, a single operator can control up to 4 channels simultaneously. MPlay is also designed for live productions, guaranteeing fast and efficient roll-out to air operations, including fill & key graphics and ganged clips. All MPlay functions are fully configurable with IPDirector software.

New ENG Files Import & Virtual Editing. It offers smooth and efficient reviewing, clipping and on-the-fly transcoding. Content from the ENG camcorder (XDCAM, P2) is displayed on an intuitive interface enabling instant browsing for clip selection, sub-clipping and/or fast rough-cut editing. Once selected or created, clips and consolidated edits can be easily transferred (with on-the-fly transcoding operation if required) from the ENG device to any EVS server for further production or post-production operations.
