Elemental to Showcase Software-Defined Video Solutions at IBC 2016

Elemental Technologies, a leader in software-defined video solutions, today announced that at IBC 2016 it will highlight video production, distribution and monetization advancements, both on-premises and in the cloud, to help video providers address transformative change sweeping the media and entertainment industry. Elemental and Amazon Web Services will exhibit together in stand 5.C80 at the RAI Center, Amsterdam, 9 – 13 September.

“The primary issues facing video providers around the world today are exceeding the expectations of consumers while earning a fair return,” said Keith Wymbs, Chief Marketing Officer for Elemental. “Only software-defined video solutions can assure content availability everywhere, leverage new formats like UHD and virtual reality, and allow video providers to embark on new monetization approaches.”

To help video providers address viewer demand for the content they want, when they want it and on their preferred devices, Elemental will showcase the unique ability of software-defined video (SDV) to seamlessly integrate end-to-end video workflows from source to display device. Elemental will highlight innovations including: SDI over IP implemented with SMPTE 2022-6 for efficient transport of real-time media over IP networks; high quality HEVC 4Kp60 4:2:2 10-bit encoding; live channel playout on-premises and from the cloud; deep integration with Amazon S3 for file-to-live workflows; and live virtual reality (VR) content ingest and processing. Elemental’s expanding video delivery capabilities will be showcased as well, including: digital video broadcast (DVB) solutions, high dynamic range (HDR); and content playout with Amazon CloudFront.
