Access Hollywood Goes Tapeless with EVS Technology

NBC Universal Domestic Television Distributions hit entertainment news-magazine “Access Hollywood” has made the transition to a fully tapeless end-to-end workflow by employing state of the art production tools from EVS. The EVS XT[2] production server and IPDirector content management system were the answer to bring the show up to the next level.

Extended Open Architecture

IPDirector Integrates with Avid iNEWS NRCS. Full communication between EVS Content Production Management System, IPDirector, and the Avid® iNEWS® newsroom system is made possible through MOS protocol support and the introduction of a new ActiveX browser for iNEWS clients.

EVS Servers to Natively Support Panasonic AVC-intra Codec. EVS XT[2]+ and XS series servers will have full native support of Panasonic AVC-Intra high-performance codec in Q4 2010. EVS servers with AVC-Intra encoding support will offer better HD quality with optimized storage, and wide cross platform support.

More Control

IPEdit : New Edit-While Playout Mode. First timeline editor to offer on-air fixing and on-the fly editing features optimized for multi-time zones and fast turnaround program editing. The new edit-while-playout mode from IPEdit allows highlights to be played out while they are still under editing progress.

Xedio Dispatcher : New ENG Files Import & Virtual Editing. It offers smooth and efficient reviewing, clipping and on-the-fly transcoding. Content from the ENG camcorder (XDCAM, P2) is displayed on an intuitive interface enabling instant browsing for clip selection, sub-clipping and/or fast rough-cut editing. Once selected or created, clips and consolidated edits can be easily transferred (with on-the-fly transcoding operation if required) from the ENG device to any EVS server for further production or post-production operations.

Epsio : Fully Integrated Graphics for Live Sports. Epsio is EVS’ new graphical analysis tool for live sports. It is based on patented algorithmic codes, which produce real-time automated drawings for enhanced sports analysis. Due to the fact that this new software application is designed to operate with existing LSM-XT[2] systems, operators can manually insert graphic overlays with their RemoteLSM. The operation is done in an instant and creates great visual effects.

Fox Sports Australia Runs First ever Live Operation of EVS LSM Integrated Sports Graphics

Fox Sports successfully operated the first ever EVS sport graphics system, Epsio, fully integrated to the original LSM replay controller, for live inserts of a virtual offside line during the soccer match between Australia and Indonesia at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on March 3rd.
