Boxx.tv’s Iris Control and Tally Light for RF Broadcast Cameras – Meridian Tallis
Camera paint systems are traditionally expensive and hence out of the reach of many productions. Boxx has conceived a simple yet elegant solution that provides remote control for Iris and tally light only. The Meridian Tallis system also works with any brand of broadcast camera on a wireless rig or Steadicam, and is not limited to Boxx.tv’s own wireless camera systems.

It solves the tricky problem of providing Iris control for a variety of different manufacturers’ cameras by tapping directly into the lens to adjust the aperture.

The product is small enough to mount on any camera and the control knob gives accurate high resolution control to the iris. As Tallis only controls the lens you have no Black level or red/blue gain control, but at a price of around $2,000, Tallis opens up a solution to many productions where controlling the iris only is sufficient.

Boxx.tv, was founded by two Australian entrepreneurs Scott Walker and Darrell Bilton.  Former cameraman Scott Walker says:

"There simply isn’t another solution as this price point to control the Iris on wireless camera rigs. This enables you to match the brightness of the video from a wireless camera with other cameras.”

Boxx’s own wireless camera solution, the Meridian, operates with zero delay has been used numerous times alongside cabled cameras on multi-camera productions.

Boxx are offering their Iris Control and Tally for all broadcast and video productions, outdoor screen applications, conference centres, wedding videography and Webcasting.

Boxx.tv’s Entry Level RF Camera System with Zero Delay – Meridian Lite
Meridian Lite’s killer feature is its Zero Frame Delay RF link for High Definition video, which delivers broadcast video and sound perfectly in synch. The sytem supports full 4:2:2 video including all formats up to 1080p 30, providing a simple, affordable, wireless solution for all professional videographers.

The Meridian Lite provides a simple interface for quick setup and ease of use. It has the same range and reliability as its high-end equivalent, and is upgradeable to provide all of the features of the popular full Meridian RF link.

Boxx.tv designed Meridian Lite for professional broadcast and videography applications. It is suitable for live broadcast on a budget, and for Steadicam operators, but will also suit Video Assist, Webcasting, conferences, audio visual systems within large halls or churches, and Big Screen outdoor presentations.

Boxx’s Meridian system is rapidly becoming the standard for feature film video assist and live-to-air production, because of its lightweight transmitter, zero frame delay and uncompressed signal without artifacts. The release of Merdiian Lite will extend the reach of this technology to those who want to adopt it at an entry level, with the option to upgrade to the full-featured Meridian system at a later date.

Meridian has been used for the X Factor finals, Who Wants to Be a Millionnaire, Australia’s Got Talent, and KABC and TTLA’s coverage of the Martin Luther King Parade Day and the Canadian General Elections, also a number of TV dramas and Hollywood feature films.

Boxx.tv was founded by two Australian entrepreneurs Scott Walker and Darrell Bilton.  Former cameraman Scott Walker says, “Our aim is to revolutionise the way you work and build products that make RF links easy to use. Meridian Lite contains exactly the same technology as our established Meridian system, but with a reduced feature set. We believe the quality and performance of our RF links are unequalled at this price level.”

The first chance to see this new product, Meridian Lite, will be at NAB 2012, where Boxx will be exhibiting in the Central Hall at C7219.
