Arista and Lawo to Showcase Frame-Accurate Switching of SMPTE2022 IP Video

.

Lawo, a leading manufacturer of digital audio consoles and IP-based video routing equipment, and Arista Networks, (NYSE: ANET) an industry leader in software-driven cloud networking solutions for large data center and computing environments, are presenting a joint showcase at the NAB exhibition and conference held in Las Vegas. The companies just hosted a joint webinar titled “Frame Accurate Video Routing with IP-based Broadcast Infrastructure” prior to the show.

In Las Vegas, Arista and Lawo are provided a live demonstration of seamless, frame-accurate video switching using components that are available today; pioneering the way to a “post-baseband” video switching infrastructure. The showcase took place at both the Arista booth and the Lawo booth.

“Our relationship with Arista has been extremely fruitful”, says Erling Hedkvist, Senior Vice President, Lawo. “The seamless integration of Arista’s switches and our control layer allows us to implement a solution the way broadcasters want it. We are utilizing the VSM Virtual Studio Manager technology for the control layer with a very intuitive, customizable user interface that now manages IP video switching instead of SDI. All of this happens in the background, so our customers’ normal workflow is unaffected. And since our approach is based on source-timed switching, we’re not wasting any bandwidth or compromising the quality of switching. It’s just as clean and frame-accurate as conventional baseband technology.”

Arista Networks was founded to deliver software driven cloud networking solutions for large data center and high-performance computing environments. With more than three million cloud networking ports being deployed worldwide, Arista delivers a portfolio of 1/10/40 and 100GbE products that redefine network architectures, bring extensibility to networking, and dramatically change the price/performance of data center networks.
At the core of Arista's platform is the Extensible Operating System (EOS™), a ground-breaking network operating system with single-image consistency across hardware platforms, and modern core architecture enabling in-service upgrades and application extensibility.
