Alain Andreoli joined Grass Valley in January 2011, to lead the company following the acquisition by Francisco Partners from Technicolor.

Alain's long term mandate is to build Grass Valley into a strong global leading brand—the premier video technology solutions company—leveraging its more than 50-years of R&D and technology innovation leadership, its broad range of products and solutions offering, and its intimate relationships with one of the broadest and most loyal customer bases in the broadcast industry.

Alain joins Grass Valley from Francisco Partners, where he was an Operating Partner. Just prior, he was President of Sun Microsystems Europe which included 30 subsidiaries operating in 100 countries and representing 40% of Sun's business, until Sun’s acquisition by Oracle.

With 25 years experience in the ICT industry, Alain has led repetitive business turnarounds around the world, achieving accelerated growth and profitability. His management career has spanned a variety of markets, including consumer electronics, semiconductors, data storage, servers and networking, IP communications, infrastructure cloud services, software-as-a-service, IP community networks, and open source software.

Former roles include steering the Global Industrial Segment of Texas Instruments, leading StorageTek’s (Oracle) International business and global services, President & COO of Verio (NTT Communications), EVP of McData (Brocade), President & CEO of XioTech, and Chairman & CEO of Hubwoo.

Alain has a business degree from SKEMA in France, and participated in an international exchange with the MBA program of Concordia University in Canada. Married with three children—they have lived together in seven countries—his interests include skiing, sailing, and geopolitics.
