She joins NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt and Fox Sports Executive Producer David Neal as anchor speakers at this inaugural event that is drawing together for the first time the entire Los Angeles-based live-television-production community.

Campbell has overall responsibility for ABC’s eight TV stations and their digital assets in New York; Los Angeles; Chicago; Philadelphia; San Francisco; Houston; Raleigh-Durham, NC; and Fresno, CA. In addition, she oversees ABC National Television Sales, and the hit syndicated series “LIVE with Kelly and Michael,” which is produced at WABC-TV New York. She is based in Burbank and reports to Anne Sweeney, co-chair, Disney Media Networks, and president, Disney/ABC Television Group.

“Local stations are the standard-bearers of live television — with their extensive live news coverage and live-to-tape entertainment programming,” says Jessell. “As local markets now distribute content over a range of new digital and social-media outlets, live coverage of breaking news and local events is what truly draws viewers and distinguishes great broadcast journalism. Rebecca’s experience on the station level will provide unique insights into how live production remains a key driver of today’s local-television business.”

LiveTV:LA was created to address the dynamic and growing market of live television production — from sports to awards shows to news to live-to-tape and more. The conference has been developed by the most respected media sources in television — Sports Video Group (SVG), TVNewsCheck, Variety, and Variety 411 — and is drawing hundreds of attendees, representing production companies at the forefront of today’s Live-TV-social-media revolution.
