STAGETEC Systems in a History-Packed Environment

.

During a technical upgrade, the existing setup at the recording studio of the Herkulessaal – the history-packed concert hall of the Munich Residenz – has been enhanced with additional STAGETEC systems. The main purpose of the studio is recording and live broadcasting performances of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, which uses Herkulessaal regularly.

The technical upgrade and the constructional facelift of the studio occurred within a very short timeframe between 27th of August and 27th of October, 2013. An AURUS replaced the CANTUS – a first-generation digital large mixing console by STAGETEC – in the control room. The clearly structured operating concept of the AURUS allows operators to respond quickly to engineer requests. The audio network of the new installation includes three NEXUS Base Devices plus a NEXUS STAR hosting the AURUS DSP cards.

A special feature of the installation is the monitoring controller at the audio-editing suite, which is completely independent from the console. Using hardware modules from the AURATUS range, a secondary monitoring space was configured that accesses signals from the AURUS control room.

In addition, the extensive possibilities of the NEXUS logic programmer allow for fully implementing all intercom and communication links required for production and live use.
