IHSE Releases Dual Link KVM Extender for 4K

The new 4K Dual Link extenders will be available for live demonstration at IBC in Amsterdam, 12-16 September 2014, booth 7.B30

At IBC2014 IHSE announces upgraded Dual Link KVM extenders for 4K video signals transfer. The new models support the transmission of video resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 pixels via one data cable.

The upgraded Draco vario Dual Link extenders enable the transmission of 4K video signals to one single monitor up to 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz frame rate in addition to the usual 2560 x 2048 at 60 Hz. Extension of signals requires a single data cable (Cat X or fiber). The extenders offer additional USB ports for connection of keyboard, pointing devices and storage devices.

The new Dual Link extenders are compatible with DVI Single Link devices; allowing use with monitors that are limited to a small set of Dual Link inputs, for example Apple Cinema monitors. In this scenario signals from lower definition sources are embedded within the 4K resolution and can be switched with no discernible switching delay. Single Link images are displayed at their own native resolution within a blanked area on-screen.

Dual Link extenders can be installed in all types of Draco vario chassis and are compatible with all Draco vario types, including DisplayPort and HDMI extenders. Optional upgrade modules allow the additional transmission of other signals including audio and RS232. All IHSE extenders are designed for the use with Draco tera matrix switches.

To satisfy diverse uses and fields of application, the Draco Dual Link extender is optionally available with redundant interconnection to ensure uninterrupted operation in the case of link failure.

Draco vario products, including the new 4K Dual Link extenders will be available for live demonstration at IBC in Amsterdam, 12-16 September 2014, booth 7.B30, alongside IHSE’s range of high-performance KVM switching and extension technology.
