Vizrt to Display Stereo 3D Imagery using Christie Mirage Projector and Volfoni 3D Glasses

The stereo 3D NAB presentation will be displayed from a new Christie Mirage HD10K-M high-performance, 3-chip DLP projector designed specifically for live 3D event staging.

For their first collaboration, the stereo 3D display set-up will feature advanced stereo 3D glasses from Volfoni, a leading supplier of stereo 3D eyewear worldwide. Volfoni offers two product lines: EDGE, active glasses dedicated to cinema and audiovisual markets; and ActivEyes, its new hybrid active/passive eyewear compatible with 3DTV sets and PC monitors. The EDGE 3D glasses will be used within the Vizrt booth at NAB, while the ActivEyes eyewear will be on display at the Volfoni booth at NAB (Booth # C11839). This year, Vizrt chose to partner with Volfoni because of their eyewear’s superior imaging qualities.

As a member of the new Christie Mirage Series 3D DLP projector line, the Mirage HD10K-M projector offers 1920x1080 widescreen HD resolution, 10,500 ANSI Lumens of brightness, up to a full 120Hz native frame-rate, as well as embedded Christie Twist™ image warping and edge blending for superior 3D picture quality. While two Christie HD8K projectors were used by Vizrt for last year’s stereo 3D presentation during the NAB show, this year, a Christie HD8K projector will be used as a secondary projector supplementing the stereo 3D imagery shown by the Mirage.
