cineo82 Projector for 2D and 3D

Delivering an unrivalled selection of 2D and 3D projection displays tailored for the most critical post and digital intermediate user, Norway’s projectiondesign® will provide their cineo32 and cineo82 DLP® projectors in three dedicated areas on the booth of European post production software developer, SGO.

3D stereoscopic configurations on the SGO booth at NAB

“In an effort to create a product that’s a perfect fit for the broadcast, post-production and media creation environment, we’ve worked very closely with the technical managers of leading post houses and digital film consultants,” says Anders Løkke, International Marketing & Communications Manager at projectiondesign. “Their valuable feedback has been incorporated into our range of cineo projectors and we’re delighted that they’re being used in 3D stereoscopic configurations on the SGO booth at NAB to present the latest workflow to a growing US and International audience. We believe that they will significantly benefit the production, broadcast and post community in high definition, digital cinematography, VFX, studio display, color correction and graphics work.”

3D stereoscopic imaging goes all the way

On the booth, projectiondesign’s flagship cineo82 3-chip DLP® projectors in stereoscopic configuration and using high precision lenses will be projected on a screen measuring 3 meters wide. The cineo82 has a peak brightness of 10,000 ANSI lumens and features native 1920x1080 HD resolution, perfect for combining animation, effects and recorded footage. The high brightness ensures that large viewing or screening rooms are guaranteed a bright, clear and color accurate picture every time during the workflow process. The 3-chip DLP technology with projectiondesign ACOP optical processing ensures the best image possible with REC709 and DCI-compliant color space.

In addition to the cineo82, SGO will use the projectiondesign cineo32 single-chip 1080p DLP projector in stereo configuration on a 2 meter wide screen. The cineo32 offers high contrast and color uniformity. It features full 10-bit resolution, a guaranteed REC 709 color space for accuracy and incorporates the latest version of BrilliantColor, developed by Texas Instruments, for improved performance. This allows the user to calibrate the projector to produce a perfectly accurate image, either through external 1D and 3D LUT generation or through its unique RealColor color management suite. The projector is available with a wide range of precision projection optics, and it’s compact and portable design enables it to be used for on-set viewing of digital dailies or rushes.

2D for post production

Not everyone will be going down the 3D route and projectiondesign’s cineo32 projector in 2D configuration can be seen on the SGO booth.

“The projectors will be used for hourly demonstrations of the new Mistika Version 5 software, also being launched at the show by SGO,” says Miguel Angel Doncel, CEO at SGO. “We’re delighted to be using projectiondesign projectors as they perfectly match the color and 3D capabilities of our software and are seamlessly integrated with our systems. We expect our booth this year to be not only the most vibrant and colorful, but also functional and typical of the types of systems already in use today.”

Already firmly established in the international marketplace and used by the world’s most famous post production, VFX and imaging specialists, projectiondesign can be found in a number of uses today including The Moving Picture Company, Lipsync, The Look, The Worx Digital, E-Motion Italy and more recently a 3D stereoscopic suite at On Sight, London.
