FUSION 3D SHOOTS “GLEE: THE 3D CONCERT MOVIE”

CAMERON | PACE Group’s FUSION 3D System Shoots “Glee: The 3D Concert Movie”

CAMERON | PACE Group announces it is the innovative company behind 7 FUSION 3D systems, SLATE²SCREEN™ 3D production support services and a FUSION 3D Mobile Unit One used to shoot “Glee” co-creator, Ryan Murphy and Twentieth Century Fox Films’ live-action 3D concert film, “Glee: THE 3D CONCERT MOVIE.” The film, directed by Kevin Tancharoen, will release in theaters on August 12, 2011.

“For fans that missed the North American summer tour or want to see the tour again up close, FUSION 3D will give international viewers front row seats and VIP access to the unique “Glee: THE 3D CONCERT MOVIE” experience,” said Vince Pace, Co-Chairman and CEO of CAMERON | PACE Group.

Working closely with director Kevin Tancharoen, cinematographer Glen MacPherson and producer David Nicksay, CAMERON | PACE Group outfitted 7 FUSION 3D systems with a variety of cameras including the ARRI ALEXA and RED EPIC to shoot “Glee! Live! In Concert!” live-action concert footage in Anaheim, California and Izod Center in East Rutherford, NJ (just outside New York). The “GLEE: THE 3D CONCERT MOVIE” marks the third FUSION 3D collaboration with producer David Nicksay (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never and Step Up 3D) and cinematographer Glen MacPherson (Resident Evil: Afterlife and the upcoming, The Three Musketeers).

To simplify and streamline the 3D production process on-site, CAMERON | PACE Group’s fully integrated mobile workflow unit, FUSION 3D Mobile Unit One helped the director, cinematographer and producer see live line cuts and create and maintain the energy of the production. The integration of a Grass Valley Kayenne™ Video Production Center switcher into the mobile unit allowed the production team to create a line cut of the production.

“We combined all of the newest technologies for this FUSION 3D production,” said Bruno Brunelle, 3D Engineer of CAMERON | PACE Group. “Our FUSION 3D system and mobile unit were able to keep the flow of this high-energy live concert experience.”
