In total, more than 100 broadcasters have covered the wedding, giving it a good chance of being one of the most watched TV events ever. All of which, of course, means a huge boost for the UK’s OB and equipment hire companies. The biggest, and most prestigious, part of the day of course was the wedding itself with coverage provided by a consortium of UK broadcasters – BBC, ITN and Sky.

After receiving their first TriCaster TCXD850 demo unit, NewTek Specialist Dealer IDcromvideo SL made a real field test! The new TriCaster unit in HD/SD with 8 inputs and 22 channels was chosen to cover a series of events celebrated in XÁTIVA, Spain, at the occasion of the city’s annual fair known as the “Feria de Agosto de Xátiva”.This series of events started with the opening of the fair and the show performed by the China National Acrobatic Troupe. Modosdever, the audiovisual company in charge of covering the event, used TriCaster TCXD850 to power and feed the venue’s two giant screens as well as to stream the event live on the web.

Since the 17th century, the Festival of Lights in Lyon has been closely linked to the city’s religious history. In 1852, a statue of the Virgin Mary erected at the Chapel of the Hill of Fourvière was to be inaugurated on September 8th, but the Saône river flooded and forced the cancellation of the ceremony. The inauguration was postponed to December 8th, Immaculate Conception Day. That December evening, the people of Lyon spontaneously put lights in their windows, and the Festival of Lights was born!
