In the mid-‘70s, Live Sound became Audio-Technica’s passion. But it was a long, hard journey from the early days of its performance microphones 30 years ago to the widespread use of Audio-Technica’s state-of-the-art wireless mics on concert stages across the various genres of the music industry today. The earliest Live Sound line targeted performing musicians looking for a great value in an affordable microphone for vocals and instruments. Out once again on tour with Muse, lighting designer Oli Metcalfe is the first LD to use the new High End Systems Hog 4 control system. During a recent string of shows in the UK and Europe, Metcalfe had the opportunity to swap out his Full Boar console for the new Hog 4 desk. Metcalfe's design is already turning heads for its creative implementation of video surfaces across a giant articulating pyramid that symbolizes the system of power and global politics; his approach to networking and control is similarly cutting-edge.

During his "Berlin Calling Tour" Paul Kalkbrenner performed on 17 April 2010 in the Jahrhunder Halle in Frankfurt. Pfadfinderei, an internationally renowned design collective, was responsible for the visualization of Kalkbrenners performance on the stage. For the lighting effects Max Schöntag was in charge. A team of cameramen around Max Penzel recorded the event in High Definition.

One of the world’s favourite opera masterpieces – Aida - is among the most popular works by Giuseppe Verdi. In October Aida was performed in a very original form on the stage of the Moscow International House of Music (MMDM). It was the first time the famous opera, which has been performed for 140 years, was accompanied by unique large-scale projections created by 360Project Company. Svetlanov Hall of MMDM was full of the spirit and icons of Ancient Egypt. The installation included two Christie Roadster S+20K, two Christie HD10K-M alongside slide projectors.

For the production of the 50th transmission of the New Years Concert of the “Wiener Philharmoniker” from the “Goldener Saal des Wiener Musikvereins”, ORF commissioned TopVision with its HD Ü5 OBVan to generate the live signal of the event. 89 television stations delivered the signal to about one billion viewers around the world. And for the first time the Swiss Broadcaster “HD Suisse” broadcasted the signal in High Definition.

Night of the Proms is a series of concerts held yearly in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. Regularly there are also shows in France, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and the Scandinavian countries. The concerts consist of a combination of pop music and popular classical music (often combined) and various well-known musicians and groups usually participate. Night of the Proms is the biggest annually organized indoor event in Europe. The annual production of the DVD (in future also on Blu-ray available) was carried out at the concert in Cologne by the Belgium High Definition Production company “Outside Broadcast”.
